Advance Ticket Cinema Graffiti

Published in 1990, Advance Cinema Grafitti is a rare collection of Japanese advance cinema tickets. Sold before a film’s release, these illustrated tickets were designed as keepsakes as much as admission passes, often featuring artwork created exclusively for the Japanese market.

Compiled by the Advance Ticket Research Society, the book reproduces hundreds of tickets for foreign films released in Japan, from Hollywood classics and cult favourites to European cinema. Originally intended to be used once and thrown away, they now offer a fascinating record of Japanese graphic design and film culture.

Long out of print, it’s a unique reference for collectors of paper ephemera, vintage cinema and Japanese print design.
