Movie Card Collection Archive 3

A unique archive of Korean movie culture, Movie Card Battle Collection 3 showcases 415 original movie cards from 1989 to 1997. These palm-sized cards - also known as “movie calendars” - were a major form of film promotion in Korea from the 1970s to the 1990s, featuring movie posters on the front and calendars, subway maps, or study schedules on the back.

Distributed widely on the streets and in front of schools, movie cards were more than promotional materials - they captured the energy of their era. This final volume in the Movie Card Battle Collection series follows Volume 1 (1957–1980) and Volume 2 (1981–1988), and explores the height of Hong Kong cinema, the rise of zombie films, and the growing influence of celebrity culture.
