A bootleg reprint of Go Nagai’s rare & raunchy 1978 one-shot manga 'Viva! Star Wars!', first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Playboy before Star Wars had even opened in Japanese cinemas.

Best known for Devilman, Mazinger Z, Cutie Honey, and Violence Jack, Nagai brings his crude 1970s sci-fi parody style to the Star Wars phenomenon at the exact moment it was entering Japanese pop culture. This short, adult-leaning gag manga is less an adaptation than a fast, strange response to the global hype around Lucas’s film.

This edition reproduces the original Japanese comic with an English translation index. A compact piece of Star Wars bootleg history, manga ephemera, and Go Nagai weirdness.
