Bookplates, also known as ex libris, are decorative labels traditionally pasted inside the front covers of books to identify their owners. Often featuring intricate illustrations, typography and personal symbols, they have a long history as miniature works of graphic design.

Bookplates No. 1 brings together a collection of examples spanning the past 100 years. Published by COLLECT, this is the first in a trilogy celebrating the art of bookplate design, reproduced in two-colour Risograph printing.
